Our History
It all started with a cold bath.
Swedish Cold was born out of a personal conviction: recovery deserves the same care as training. Today, we create cold baths, saunas, and complete recovery facilities for people and businesses that demand the highest standards of both experience and quality.
We are a Swedish company with roots in Stockholm and our sights set on the world. Swedish design, well-thought-out products, and personalized service are the foundation of everything we do.

A personal routine marked the beginning of Swedish Cold.
Long before Swedish Cold existed, cold bathing was already a part of Johan’s life. As a former elite athlete, he had a strong interest in training, performance, and recovery. He started cold bathing as early as 2012. What began as a personal routine grew into an interest in how the experience could be improved and made easier to incorporate into everyday life.
Over the years, Johan tried out various products and solutions. He followed international developments and saw how cold baths were gaining an increasingly prominent role in fitness and wellness, particularly in the U.S. This sparked an ambition: to bring that experience home and create a Swedish brand with higher standards for design, user-friendliness, and service.
Swedish Cold was founded in 2021. The starting point was the founders’ own experience of what works in practice. A cold bath should feel well-thought-out from the very first encounter with the product through cleaning, maintenance, and use over time. It should be something people want to use and are happy to have out in the open—not something to hide away.
That mindset remains. Johan is still committed to the vision behind Swedish Cold, with the same curiosity he had from the very beginning. The difference is that what started as a personal routine has now evolved into products and installations for private homes, hotels, gyms, spas, and sports facilities.
Erik Säving, co-founder
A passion for ice bathing. A drive to create more.
Erik is a co-founder of Swedish Cold and a passionate cold-water swimmer with a deep love for life. He has been an important part of our journey and of our efforts to create something that brings people genuine joy.
For Erik, it’s about more than just the product itself. What drives him is working with companies that want to develop well-designed recovery facilities and provide their guests and members with an experience they’ll want to return to. Hotels, spas, and gyms therefore hold a special place in his work.
Together with Johan, Erik has helped transform Swedish Cold from a personal passion into a partner for both private clients and larger businesses. Johan’s founding vision and Erik’s commitment to people, relationships, and commercial projects are key elements of what we’re continuing to build upon.

We don’t base our view of cold baths solely on how a product looks in a picture. We consider the entire experience: that the water should be ready when you are, that the bath should feel welcoming, and that maintenance should be straightforward. It’s details like these that determine whether the product becomes a natural part of everyday life.
Our product line includes the Generation 4S, Generation 5, and Nordic Tub, among others. These models cater to different needs in terms of placement, use, and design. We’ll help you choose based on how many people will be using the tub, how often it will be used, and the conditions at the installation site.
For us, cooling, circulation, filtration, and material selection are all integral parts of the design. A private user and a business with many visitors do not need the same solution. That is why we start by understanding your needs before recommending a model or configuration.

The sauna complements the cold plunge pool and opens up new ways to use a recovery area. It can be a quiet moment for yourself, a shared post-workout routine, or an experience that guests and members will want to return to.
Our current lineup includes both infrared and traditional saunas. From the Sanctuary Solo and Sanctuary Duo to the Heritage, Private Escape, and Grand Escape, we’ll help you find a style and design that suits your space.
We place great emphasis on proportions, the feel of wood, light, and how the product fits into its surroundings. A sauna should be functional in everyday life, but it should also be something you enjoy looking at and spending time in. For larger projects, we can design cold plunge pools and saunas together as a cohesive whole.

Swedish Cold has completed over 500 installations. Our experience comes from a wide variety of settings, ranging from private homes to hotels, gyms, spas, and sports facilities. Each location teaches us something about what customers need and what it takes to make the whole system work.
Sweden is our home turf. Here, we have clients in both elite sports and premium hospitality, including Hammarby IF, NK Padel & Social by ASCARO, and the Sheraton Stockholm. We also work with private clients, elite athletes, and well-known personalities who want to create their own space for recovery.

Before you place an order, we’ll help you figure out product selection, placement, and practical considerations. Depending on the project, we can also coordinate transportation, delivery, assembly, and installation. You’ll receive a plan tailored to your specific location, rather than being left with questions once the delivery arrives at your doorstep.
After delivery, we’re here to provide guidance on usage, maintenance, and service. For businesses, we can discuss service packages and a approach tailored to your daily operations. We communicate via email, phone, and WhatsApp, and strive to provide prompt, personalized feedback.
Warranties, the scope of service, and delivery arrangements should be clearly stated in your quote. Our goal is simple: you should know what you’re getting, who to contact, and how we’ll help you moving forward.

Swedish Cold is based in Stockholm and has a warehouse in Borås. We also have operations and a local presence in Spain, with a Spanish subsidiary and a network that covers Barcelona and other major Spanish cities.
Through our team and our local partners, we also have a presence in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Italy, Denmark, Norway, and France. This puts us in a better position to understand the local context, maintain close contact, and coordinate the necessary aspects of an international project.
