Estimated surplus per month
- Additional monthly revenue
- Variable costs per month
- Payback Period
- Profit after investments during the period
- Simple return during the period
- Visits to cover this month's operating costs
Here's how the calculation works
Monthly surplus = number of additional visits × (revenue per visit − variable cost per visit) − additional fixed monthly costs.
Payback period = investment / positive monthly surplus. Period profit = monthly surplus × number of months − investment. Simple rate of return = period profit / investment. The calculation assumes the same occupancy rate every month and does not take into account seasonality, time value of money, or a gradual ramp-up.
You should also test a more conservative scenario with fewer visits and higher costs before making an investment decision.
