Ice bath menopause

How ice baths reduce menopausal symptoms

Menopause is a phase of life that all women go through. Common symptoms that can be hard to deal with are mood swings, anxiety and sleep problems, all of which can really make everyday life something of an unreasonable challenge. There is now new research showing that ice baths can alleviate these types of symptoms.

Research on ice baths:

A very interesting study from University College London (UCL) which is published in Post Reproductive Health recently published very exciting results.

*Half of the women experienced reduced anxiety.

*One third saw a clear improvement in mood swings.

*Over 30% got relief from symptoms of other conditions

One of the women in the study even described ice baths as something that was 'magical'. She said it had even "saved her life". Her physical and mental problems completely disappeared when she performed her ice baths.

Why do ice baths work?

When you sit in an ice bath, something exciting happens in your body:

*Happiness hormones kick in... Ice baths cause the body to release endorphins that provide a natural happiness boost and reduce pain.

*Stress management gets better... Cortisol levels (that stress hormone that makes us feel overwhelmed) drop which can make you feel more balanced and calm.

*Blood circulation gets a boost It can help the body to regulate its temperature better, which can really help relieve symptoms.

Ice baths - more than just a 'bath'.

For many women, ice baths have become an unexpected but popular part of everyday life. Not only is it a way to cope with menopausal symptoms, but it's also a chance to relax and be in the moment.
